Pink is having a HUGE moment right now. From Pantone’s soft pinks like Rose Quartz to bright pinks like Cerise, I’ve seen it all over the place this year. However, next year it’s going to get even bigger and brighter. Bold, bright pinks have a way of bringing new energy and life to a space. So today I decided to post about 10 ways you can incorporate this amazing color trend into your home!
1. On the Floor
Vintage Turkish or Kilim rugs are one of my favorite ways to incorporate bright colors into my home. You can find some amazing dark pink ones (I get mine on ebay!) that will add a lot of richness and depth to your room. This works well with brass accessories!
2. In Hidden Spaces
If you’re not daring enough to incorporate such a strong color in one of your home’s main spaces, consider adding pops of it in hidden spaces. This could be inside your cabinets, in your laundry room, in your bathroom or wherever you please! The surprise factor of opening up a door and discovering unexpected color is priceless.
3. On the Ceiling
On the other hand, if you are super brave and you’re willing to go all out, try a colored ceiling! First, you want to make sure your room has enough natural light so it doesn’t feel dark when you add a so much color. Use a hot pink shade like the one pictured below for a super bright energetic vibe, or a darker magenta for a moody, vintage feel.
4. On the Wall
Go for an eclectic look with a pink ombre wallpaper. This style has the ability to be subtle or bold depending on how you play it up with furniture and accessories. For more tips on how to make wallpaper work for you check out my post: Tips and Tricks for Decorating with Wallpaper!
5. As Statement Furniture
A lot of designers recommend to go neutral with furniture and add color with accessories. Well, I say rules are made for breaking – so go big with your furniture and make it the center of attention! These fuscia couches are perfect to ground this large, open, industrial room.
6. As Accent Pieces
Your dressers and chairs don’t have to be boring either! I think it’s super fun to mix-it-up by putting eclectic pieces in you hallways, living room or bedroom. This adds so much more interest to a space and is a great way to save money too! Just take an old dresser (or whatever you have), sand it down, paint it a gorgeous shade of pink and add new hardware!
7. In Your Kid’s Room
Going bright, bold and colorful is always a good idea in your kid’s room because it creates a happy, cheerful vibe. This room works well because it mixes different patterns at large scales (on the wall and on the bedspread) to avoid looking too busy. The pom poms around the headboard are a great addition and you can take any old chair and spray paint it pink for your kids desk!
8. With a Black & White Color Palette
If you have a neutral room in your house but you’re looking to spice it up a little then try adding pink hues on things like decorative pillows, accessories or flowers. Without the pink pillow this room would be too simple and boring, but just that little pop of color makes it come alive.
9. In the Bedroom
Usually we opt for neutral bed frames and patterned bedding but this time switch it up and go for a colorful bed frame with simple bedding. This is another great way to save money because just a little paint on an old bed frame can totally refresh the look of a room!
10. On your bookshelf
Last but not least, I’ve used the bright pink color trend in my own home by styling my bookshelf in a unique way. Instead of organizing my books by category, I organized them by color and I swear I get compliments on it every time a guest comes over! Although I have a few different colors going on, pink is a great warm tone to compliment blue and yellow.
