I’ve long believed that the most thoughtfully designed living spaces reflect, not just where you are, but who you are. So, when Disney Vacation Club recently invited me to film in imaginative spaces defined by towering toys, floating mountains and dark spires at a galaxy’s edge, I found myself fascinated as much by the designers as I was with the designs. You know Olivia and I treasure our time at Walt Disney World, so this trip was an extra special treat!
The coast-to-coast production of Disney Vacation Club’s “Behind the Magic,” a new online special peeking behind the scenes of what’s new and next at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, peels back the curtain on everything from Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure Park and Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios… to Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park and even the highly anticipated (and closely guarded, I seriously can’t share what I saw) Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge lands coming soon to Disneyland Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Along the way, I got to know some of the extraordinarily talented Walt Disney Imagineers who work in hundreds of disciplines to create immersive worlds that build on the enduring legacy of their company’s founder. I was reminded once again, that their distinctive brand of storytelling isn’t contained by theme park gates. And I thought I had the best job in the world!
Traveling beyond the Disney Parks to explore Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas, Disney’s BoardWalk Villas and Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge deepened my appreciation for the stories that surround you at these and other Disney Vacation Club Resorts. From the subtle to the spectacular, the details that make these vacation accommodations unlike any other allow families to, as Disney Vacation Club puts it, “stay magical.” It’s about not just staying in the shadows of Incredicoaster at Pixar Pier or flying mountains in Pandora – The World of Avatar, but continuing to enjoy Disney storytelling around the clock, year after magical year.
“Behind the Magic” is an eye-opening look at some of the most thoughtfully designed spaces for families, and I can’t wait for you to see more when you watch the show. To tune in, visit DVCBehindTheMagic.com and comment below to tell me what you think!
